CW Veterans Club – 04.08.2022 Board Meeting

Reports:

Treasurer…brief report on deposits and expenses; bank balance at $33,867, plus deposit to be made of $3000 received from NGHS. Plans are to limit Casino Night fundraising to $10k or less.

Casino night will be limited to 200 people attending. Sponsorship levels—

Gold at $1000.00

Silver at $500.00

Bronze at $250.00

Ernie, John, and Gary discussed plans to attract sponsorships and will begin efforts shortly. Sponsors to get signs, banners also in Waterfall (Bill to follow-up with Gene Bramblett on Waterfall ads, and write-up for next waterfall—June 1 will be due date for the next July/August edition).

Hilton Head raffle sales totaled 501 tickets, $4220 raised. Betty Wages won.

 

New Business:

 

Chili Cookoff to be held Wednesday April 20 at 6:30 pm. This event to be social, and as membership drive. This will be held at our next general meeting, and all in attendance will vote to determine top 3 winners. Ads will begin this week, and attendance will be open to all. We have several volunteers to cook; Board members will begin set-up at 5:45pm, and kitchen/Ballroom reserved from 5:30-8:30pm.

For future Board meetings, a status of Needy veterans will be provided for those helped by our charity. 8 needy veterans assisted YTD, at costs of $3100.

​

Our December holiday celebration will be Thursday December 1…plans being discussed involve a Hawaiian Luau theme with hula dancers and dress code.

​

Final recommendation was to include a link to our website in daily email updates, which will be done as space allows. Based on statistics shared by Amy, our site has seen an increase in visits and we’ll work to continue that trend.

Our next Board meeting will be May 13, 2022 in the Savannah room at 10:00am.

Our next General meeting will be April 20, 2022 in the Ballroom at 6:30pm, held in conjunction with the Chili Cook Off (see set-up details above).
