It's What We Do - Assistance with Making a Home Livable

A U.S. Army Veteran who served for over four years is totally disabled from an IED explosion while serving in Iraq. He and his wife, now living in the Hall County area, were able to make ends meet, primarily through his VA pension, until his septic tank system completely stopped working and needs
replacement, at an exorbitant cost of $20,000. They cannot use the bathrooms in their home until it is replaced.
Semper Fi granted them a sizable donation of $5,900. Over a three-month period, Veteran was able to make a deposit and a couple payment in the total amount of $1500. This only came out to $8400, but they still need the rest. The Cresswind Veterans charity jumped in with a check for $2,500, plus
worked with VFW Post 8452 and SVDP to get them another $1,000.
With more than half now paid in advance, the septic tank company has agreed to a monthly payment schedule for the balance, enabling this Veteran and his wife to continue living in their home.
The Cresswind Veterans charity – providing monetary assistance and also getting others to help a Veteran and his wife in need.
