Minutes from the September 8, 2023, monthly meeting

Members Present:

Amy DeVillez, Rosemarie Bower, JA Swartz

​

Member Absent: Robin Dickson, Kevin Pearson and Kandi Andrade

​

The meeting was called to order by Amy at 10:05 a.m.

​

WELCOME NEW BOARD MEMBER: Carl Lambrecht. We will introduce Carl and nominate him for the member at large position at our next general meeting.

​

VOLUNTEER FAIR: The Veterans Club will have a table set up for this event being held Saturday, September 30th from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the clubhouse. Set-up around 9:45 a.m. We will have cookies and other goodies at our table. Will check with board members as we get closer to this event to see who will be able to help.

NEXT GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: Tuesday, October 15th at 5 p.m. in the clubhouse ballroom We will have pizza, cookies and drinks.

​

VETERANS IN NEED: Amy is working with a Vet who is living in his car. (Update on 9/12/2023. Amy was able to obtain a copy of Vance Johnson’s ID from the VA. He was referred to us by Rico Johnson, GA Department of Veterans Service. Vance was in the Army. He served from 1983 to 1986, with an Honorable Discharge. He has been living in his car. The Board approved via email for Amy to give him two gift cards for food and gas. Total $700.)

FINANCIAL REPORT: We have a balance of $59,892.

​

COAT DRIVE: Still slated for OCTOBER 23 – 26.

​

Next monthly meeting: Friday, October 13th at 10 a.m. in the Savannah room.

​

The meeting was adjourned at 10.40 a.m.
