Minutes from the June 12, 2023, monthly meeting

Members Present:

Amy DeVillez, Rosemarie Bower, Robin Dickson and Denise Samples

Member Absent: J.A. Swartz, Henry Jackson

​

Guests: Kevin Pearson and Carl Lambrecht

​

The meeting was called to order by Amy at 10:04 a.m.

​

STEPPING DOWN: Henry Jackson informed Amy that he needs to step down due to health issues.

This leaves the VP position open. We sent out an email asking for volunteers to step up.

​

GUESTS: Amy welcomed Kevin and Carl to our meeting. They both have shown an interest in serving on the board. Amy took time to share what our board and club are about, and they were able to ask questions. Carl will make his decision after the meeting. Kevin stated he would be willing to serve on the board. The board welcomed Kevin. Thank you.

​

NEXT GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: Tuesday, July 18th at 4 p.m. in the ballroom.

The guest speaker will be Renee Bennett. She is from Right At Home and will be sharing about VA benefits for Elderly care, home care, transportation, etc.

​

Appreciation Day – August 1st: Rosemarie will be sending out to members to help with this event and Amy will be putting something in the daily update inviting residents to come find out more about us.

​

FINANCIAL REPORT: approximately $66,500. The Board approved giving $2,000 to Good News at Noon and $500 to VFW Post 8452 in July (quarterly giving).

​

Veterans in need: Currently waiting for more information about a possible Veteran who might need help with security deposit/rent. More to follow.

​

Next monthly meeting: Friday, July 19th at 10 a.m. in the Savannah room.

​

HOA: At the next HOA Board meeting we hope to get approval for our Veterans Wall.

​

QUILT of VALOR: Our Cresswind quilters group have been working on a quilt for a deserving Veteran. The board nominated Don Burt. More to follow.
